to work in (or even begin) a ministry to those who struggle with homosexuality.
Many of the skills can be applied to other Christian ministry settings
as well.
The Upper
Room is a nine-month residential program for mature Christian men and
women who seek a better understanding of their vocation, and a have a
desire to hone their ministry skills.
You'll be
immersed in PF's Taking Back Ground Program, learn to lead groups and
do instruction. You'll sit at the feet of some of Portland's best teachers,
many of them seminary professors and senior pastors. You'll learn about
yourself and about relationships as you experience community life on a
day-to-day basis.
You will
be living in the Fellowship House, a charming, hundred year-old three
story house located blocks from downtown Portland, Oregon. Each intern
has a private room, with shared baths and common room. A shared kitchen

facilities and off-street parking is provided.
The
intern program is designed to accommodate a part-time job or other

Why
the Upper Room?
We
at PF believe we have an opportunity and responsibility to share
our 20+ years' experience of ministry. God has blessed us, and we
have grown steadily each year to become one of the most respected
ministries of our kind. We rejoice that we have been able to witness
God's amazing work in people's lives. He has equipped us to bring
freedom, purity and reconciliation to those who come here.
Upper Room
is a great learning environment. The blending of community life, formal
instruction, one-on-one mentoring and guided private study, allows for
a very flexible experience that can help prepare you for the ministry
to which you feel called.
What
you might do with this training?
The
Upper Room Intern Program is designed to be a practical supplement to
whatever training and gifting you bring to it. The curriculum will equip
you. The experience will challenge and stretch you. The atmosphere will
refresh and excite you. Where God directs you after that is known only
to Him.
