Requirements
Spiritual Maturity
The intern must have a commitment to grow spiritually through
the program and a desire to discover and use his/her spiritual gifts in
a ministry environment.
Statement
of Faith
The intern must have a solid understanding of his/her salvation from sin
by the grace of Lord Jesus Christ, a belief in the authority of the Bible
for training in godliness and a belief that homosexuality is one sin among
many from which the power of the Gospel offers freedom. The intern must
agree to our doctrinal statement.
Moral
Standards
The intern must live within moral guidelines clearly spelled out
in scripture: no sexual misconduct, no drunkenness or illegal drug use,
no gossip or slander. The intern should also find the support of a local
church body for his/her own spiritual growth and encouragement.
Attending
events and classes
Each
intern will be expected to attend the Taking Back
Ground programs on Tuesday evenings, Leadership training series on
Thursdays, attend the annual retreat for Taking Back Ground in March,
and participate with our annual conference / Fundraiser (schedule to be
determined). Speaking events will be spontaneous and we encourage you
to be flexible to accommodate such events.
Personal Growth
We are accepting applicants who have experienced first-hand God's
work in their lives or the lives of others. Having involvement as a participant
in a support group (such as Living Waters, Soulutions, CrossCurrent, Steps
to Freedom, Taking Back Ground, an Exodus related support system) or personal
therapy is important for consideration of acceptance into the program.
Commitment:

program on Tuesday
evenings. Residents will, from time to time, assume leadership roles.
A Thursday Upper Room community session for in-depth learning, sharing,
and fellowship (see schedule).
A weekly meeting with ministry mentors.
